About Us
We are a family owned business, in operation since 1980. We have two retail locations. Year round at 1901 Darby Rd in Havertown, PA and seasonally at 43rd st and the Boardwalk in Sea Isle City New Jersey.
Our original owner Anne McKenna (nee Gallagher) emigrated from Ardara county Donegal in 1945.
The store started as Mrs. McKenna's sweaters and sold assorted wool products a lot of what she had made. Bestowed on her were numerous awards for her craftsmanship and some of the famous people that wore her garments were 2 past Pennsylvania governors who came to her for Handknit sweaters .

Patrick Durnin emigrated from Malahide County Dublin in 1983 and in 1986 married Anne's eldest daughter Nancy. In 1996 they took over the day to day operations and have expanded the inventory and in 2005 added a new location in Sea Isle City New Jersey.
They have 2 sons Shaun and Kevin.....PS Anne is still knitting sweaters for the store!
